IBEX HUNTING

Ibex hunts run from the 1st of September to the 15th of November with the best time in September – October. Combination Altai Ibex & Elk (Maral) is recommended from the 25th of September to the 15th of October.

Siberian Ibex inhabits in the Sayany and Altai Mountains of Russia. The airport of destination for Ibex is Abakan, Barnaul or Kyzyl via Moscow.

We offer Ibex hunting in Gorno-Altai (the airport of destination is Barnaul and then 7-9 hour drive with car) which may be the best area of all at this point in time for a wildness hunt. Russian Altai is situated in the very centre of Asia at the junction of Siberian taiga, steppes of Kazakhstan and semi-deserts of Mongolia. The Altai Republic is the territory of highlands with a very picturesque landscape, a kind of "Russian Tibet" in the centre of Eurasia at the junction of several states, natural zones and cultural worlds. The average trophy size is about 32 - 35 inches / 80-90 cm, up to 40 inches / 1 m and over is possible. Hunt can be combined with Altai Wapiti, Siberian Roe deer and Wolf.

 

Itinerary and price for all services and shooting of trophies (9-10 days from/to Moscow, including 7 days of hunting):

  • Meeting in the airport of Moscow, assistance during customs and gun control;
  • Interpreter during the stay in Russia, including his flight with clients to hunting area (according to Russian law he is responsible for guns brought in by clients);
  • All transfers in Moscow at arrival and departure (airport – hotel/airport, there and back);
  • Meeting in the airport of Barnaul;
  • Transfer from the airport to the hunting area by car;
  • Accomodation and meals in a hunting area;
  • Organization of hunting: Hunting is based from horse back due to the immense amount of country that must be covered to hunt the animals successfully. Expect extensive horseback riding 8 – 10 hours a day and considerable walking. Some knowledge and experience with horses and ridding is a must. During the day you may travel the upper edges of the mountains, glassing the hillsides and feeding areas. A temporary tented camp is set up with the specific goal of hunting a particular animal or area. Rams are generally located in remote county at 6,500 -7,000 feet / 2,200-2,500 m. Once the trophy is spotted you complete your stalk on foot, therefore the hunter must be fit, as he has to go much on foot;
  • Guiding during hunting 1:1;
  • Official documentation (official invitation to receive a visa, permit to bring in hunting guns, licences, a hunting card, veterinary certificate);
  • Sightseeing of Moscow (the Red Square, the Kremlin etc.);
